Ecclesiastes reminds us that God has made everything beautiful. It is God’s gift we marvel at a sunset or stand in awe of a mountain range. Yet this is only the beginning, for our sense of awe is a sign of something yet to come: an eternity with God. Moments of beauty come to an end and this saddens us, yet this is a sign that we were made for a world yet to come – eternity has been set in our hearts and only eternity will ultimately satisfy the longing we have within.
