Are you available to be used by the Holy Spirit? Do you make yourself available for the good things in life? From your perspective, you always endeavor to do the best possible thing, for the good of all concerned under most circumstances. No matter what you may tell yourself or others, making and keeping yourself available to do good and be good is a full time job!
Have you ever been led to give someone a compliment? Yet when the opportunity presented itself, you decided that the other person didn't deserve it or that you didn't know how to say it the right way. Holding back the good that you are led to share means that you are not available to do good. How many times have you been inspired to be silent, to hold back your comments and opinions, to let the comments or behaviors of another person go unchallenged by you? Your first thought may be, "I'm not going to say a word." Yet for some reason you cannot hold your peace. You make some comment that leads to an argument or disagreement. Speaking when you are led not to speak means that you are not available for peace. Have you ever been led to apologize but let your self-righteousness or ego get in the way? If you have engaged in these behaviors, you were not available to be used by the Holy Spirit.
Here is a theory that may help you the next time you fail to make yourself available to do something good: Stealing is not only taking. It is also refusing to give.
Until today, you may have considered yourself to be a good person who is always available to do good things. Just for today, consider all of the good things that you have not done, and consider the reasons why. Set your intentions to always be aware of an opportunity to do something good and to be in service to the Holy Spirit.
Today I am devoted to being a good servant of the Holy Spirit!
From Until Today!
